Converter tripped breaker

The circuit breaker in the fuse panel tripped open at some unkown time and unknown reason. I first learned of it one morn when the battery bathroom lite was dim. Checked the battery monitor and it read E for empty. We have been plugged to shore power whenever not moving.

#1 What would cause the circuit to trip on the converter and nothing else?

#2 My batteries- how damaged are they? Is this an bad thing that will hurt longevity for a disaster that has ruined my batteries $$$?

#3 How can I monitor to get notice of this occurance before the batteries are drained? I can think of only taking the panel off the breaker box so I can visually check when I go in the water closet, or push the battery button on the wall, and should it drop below full, the the converter is not working.

Thanks to all.

That seems to be a much reported problem "isolated incident" I am sure. Ours did the same thing sometimes 2 or 3 times a day. It was on our service center repair list and they replaced the convertor....No "incidents" since then.. By the way...That charge wire was the wire that rubbed against the frame and caused our melt down .. no cause for alarm. it was a..Isolated incident"
