TeleType Releases GPS Designed for Truckers and RV Drivers


I get a lot of emails asking for a GPS specifically designed for truck drivers. Until now there haven't been many options for those riding on multiple axles. TeleType's WorldNav system lets you enter your truck's height, weight, and length, knows about commercial truck restrictions on certain roads, and a host of other large-vehicle specific features (even Hazmat routing). The WorldNav system lets you input the length, weight, and height of your oversized vehicle. Taking the size of your vehicle into account, the GPS calculates the best route for your vehicle. The system also incorporates commercial truck restrictions, bridge heights, and load limits. It can also let you tweak the chosen route to avoid dangerous left-hand turns, or even specify if you're carrying a hazmat load.

WorldNav comes in 3.5 and 7-inch sizes, has U.S. and Canadian maps preloaded, a whopping 12 million POIs (including truck stops and weigh stations). Priced at $399 and $599 respectively, Here's all the technical details:
