Awning Issue

The awning on my '09 3400RL will only extend using the hand held remote. The switch on the inside will not work. All other switches on the panel work properly. Any suggestions?

Use a meter and check the switch. They are known to wear out.

When any of the functions available via the remote or a switch fail to operate with the switch you have to suspect the control box. By all means check out the switch and ensure it is still healthy. If it is, try some of the other functions which are doubly controlled (slides, jacks, etc). If they aren't working via the switch(es), then carefully read the following link.

There is a "feature" of the control box which locks out the switches when the remote is "active". This lock out has been known to fail. You can replace the control box (dealers love doing this) for $250 +/-. Or you can read the information supplied in this link (and it's sub-links) to learn how to circumvent the problem yourself.
