I emailed the company on the "sliding shower head" last summer and here is the reply
Don,
We've since improved this issue you are having, but there is a quick fix you can do. Attached are the installation instructions. The wall covers slide off toward you (with force) and then you can remove the brackets to get to the bar, which then allows you to remove the mechanism. The thing we found that solves this problem is that you can remove and turn the rubber stopper (#5) in the mechanism upside down and put it back in. It will give it a new life and should solve your problem completely.
