Bleach that awning ?????
I don't know about everybody else. But I hate scrubbing my awning it seems to take longer then washing the whole Monty. And no matter how hard I scrub it , its still got stains.
I had someone suggest to spray it with clorox bleach and roll it up as you do. Let it sit awhile, unroll and rinse. has anybody ever tryed this trick???

Yes, mix about a half of cup bleach with a couple gallons of car wash soap and water. I brush the solution on either the underside or topside of the awning and roll it up. Let it set for 15 to 20 minutes, unroll and finish washing. Works real good. Caution, if you are doing this in the hot sun, don't let it set as long as it will start to dry.

I scrub the awning with auto soap and extend-a-handle brush to get the majority of the grime off, then mix 2 cups bleach in a 2 gal pump sprayer. Spray the bottom and top of awning then roll up. I leave rolled up for 20-30 minutes or so then unroll and rinse off. I have been using this method for 7-8 years with great success. I do wash any bleach off of the camper side. Tim

Mix dawn and water in a garden sprayer and spray the awning really well. Roll it up for 30 minutes and then unroll it and hose it off.

I use soap and oxyclean roll up like others.
Lot safer then bleach I have wiped out part of lawn jeans and shirts bleech can rot the seams on your awning.

I do the same as Jim Fischer except I use the Dawn and water solution first, scrub it a little, spray it again and roll it up, let it sit for 30 minutes to an hour, unroll the awning again, scrub it a little, rinse it with hose and let it dry. I do rinse the side of the Monte off also since it is inevitable that you get some of the Dawn solution on the side of the unit. This usually means I end up washing the whole unit also. That is just the law of nature I guess. LOL On our old unit, I'd follow the above routine but add some Clorox to the Dawn solution before rolling it up. It was an older awning and would collect the dirt and mold faster. This took care of both then when I unrolled it again to rinse it.

Bleach is rough unless watered down considerably and washed off in a timely manner.

I use a spray bottle of Tilex Mold and Mildew Remover and a Swiffer mop followed by a generous hosing with water. The spray and roll works as well, but I'm just a scrubbing kinda guy.

Spray 9, scrub as much as you wish, roll it up a few times, rinse well, and the side of the rig as well. Much easier on the awning material and plants than bleach.

I use blue Dawn and bleach. Rinse thoroughly and let dry.
Having retired from the RV industry, I had the opportunity to "rub elbows" with people from all kinds of suppliers and vendors. One of those acquaintances from Domestic actually took awning fabric and put it in a tank of 100% bleach to test the effects of bleach on the vinyl fabric. They had it in the tank for months and there was no adverse effect!
Were they "blowing smoke up my skirt"? Don't know. But, for nearly 10 years, I used blue Dawn and bleach twice a year on the awning of the old Challenger and it was still in pretty good shape when I traded it in this last fall?

I like that fact Dale. We have used blue dawn, bleach and the roll up method for years with no ill effect.

Sounds like a mix of blue dawn/bleach and water in a 5 gal spray jug. Wash/spray/ roll up, wait 20 minutes unroll and rinse well. Got it !
