Black out!!

We are at our new location, and are on 50 amps. We will be sitting working on the puters and the living room breaker 15 amp and 20 amp next to it will trip. We have the 3485SA 2007 Montana. The breakers are oringinal. My question to anyone who has replaced these is, were did you buy them from and what numbers from them do I need to make sure to get the right breakers. Thanks for the info. The pedestal power has not tripped only in the trailer.

I wouldn't think both breakers would go bad at the same time. I would look for a more common problem like maybe a junction box under the slide. If you do need new breakers they are generally available at any of the big home improvement stores like Lowe's or Home Depot. Just write down the model and number off the front of the breaker. Better yet if you are comfortable removing one take it with you. Jim

Is that a dual breaker, one pole 15 amp and the second pole 20 amp? Or two single poles?
If dual, I have had a problem finding that combination. I have one like that and the 20 amp side powers the AC. It sometimes has a problem tripping especially when we first get set up.
Looked at Home Depot, Lowes, a hardware store, and have not found that combination yet. I can find 15/15 and 20/20 but not 15/20. I did notice that makariosrv.com has the 15/20 breaker on their web site. Considering ordering one from them if I can't find one locally soon.
Can't answer why both poles of a dual breaker would trip though. Or two side by side single breakers for that matter.

If it's a dual and say the 20amp side gets hot enough to trip the vibration and heat could cause the other to go.

My outside patio outlet is also on the living room circuit breaker. You might want to find out how many outlets are actually on the circuit in question. I run a few lights off that outlet at night until quiet time.

Do you notice anything kicking on at the time? I can't recall what other stuff is on that circuit, but I'm guessing the computer(s), Television, a IR transmitter and maybe the other entertainment stuff.

You might also have a loose outlet somewhere. Many of us have opened each outlet in the rig and retightened things back down caused by either poor workmanship or stuff getting loose while bouncing the rig around when driving. There's so many other possibilities.

I hope you find the problem and post your solution. Good luck to you!

Look for moisture in the junction box under that slide. I had that happen to me in a 2007 3400RL. I opened the junction box and water poured out of it. Everything in the box was junk. Had to replace box, cut wires back with some new wire caps and even the metal cover was so corroded thats it couldn't be cleaned up. This happened in the first summer we had the unit. Had a water line leak and it dripped down the wire covers and into the box.

Thanks for the direction, I will try, those things and maybe one of them will work. Now the fireplace won't come on. Not a breaker either, so I will have to pull it. Last time the metal connector vabrated and wire touched and burnt out. Always something luckly I still have 19 months of extended warrenty left. thanks again

One good tip for elec connections...
After you tighten them put a drop.of fingernail polish to secure the screw head to surface.nearby...
I have done that to all my connections and so far no.probs...
Re breakers, dqdick is. Orrect in that one could mechanically causqqe the.other.tott trip... their expected accurate life is about 6 trips or so...
Also.check the neutrals, as well as the.grounds... they should all come from a common point, not one to chassis in one place and another to. Dicferent spot on the chassis.... I put a bt tbrougb the chassis near tbe batt and brought all the nearby grounds to that spot, to that bolt.... dramatic improvement...
Wish.you the best...

If you are looking for a special breaker combination, go to an electrical supply house. Your neighborhood hardware stores probably won't have it.

As long as you are working on the electrical system, pull the cover off the AC distribution panel and check for loose connections. I had a problem with the bathroom AC outlets and discovered a number of ground wires that were loose in that panel. One of the neutral wires was charred from overheating
Due to the loose connection. Another problem mentioned in earlier posts is the AC junction box behind the fireplace. Some members have found charred wires. I checked ours in our 2006 3400RL and did not have a problem

My 06 3475 went thru the tripping breaker problem last year. I just had to tighten all the connections. The 50A kept tripping but it was the worst one--and I got a spare just in case. So after 5 years of bouncing down the road, those twisted strand wires and brass bolts in the breaker--loosen up enough to cause problems. My got solved with just a good screwdriver!
