"Dome Magic" cured satellite reception problems
We had a Winegard dome installed as part of our sales agreement. Last summer on the Oregon coast, whenever we had the least bit of dew or rain we lost our reception. It wound up that the portable satellite dish had to be set up at each stop. At our warranty check, we told the dealer we either wanted a new dome or money compensation. He said to please first try Dome Magic. He applied it for us, gave us the can and said to apply it again if there was a problem. Well, subsequently we underwent continual rain, dew etc., but didn't lose reception. We still have the portable dish handy in case we are parked under a tree. But, just wanted to pass on to any that are having problems -- Dome Magic really works. It's expensive, about $35/can, but well worth it.

Let me see now. You buy a top of the line system and then you need a $35.00 can of spray to made it work?
Does this sound like good old American planning on the part of the designers?
BTW: I have a similer problem on my VuQube, but I can reach it with a towel to dry it off.

Well, we had the dealer throw it in at the price we wanted (plus a few other things like a second AC). After going up on the roof and wiping it down plus setting up the portable satellite, we too, wondered about "the planning on the part of the designers." Thus, the demand to the dealer for either a different dome system or compensatory payment. All that said, we really enjoy just pushing a button to bring in the satellite after 16 years of setting the portable up at each stop! And now it works like advertised. BTW, when we called Winegard, they said they were having a problem with some of their new domes because they were made in China and the material was different than used before.

Ahhh...China...and yes, we shop at Walmart.
When looking at a dish for our first 5er (you will remmeber Oregon, footloose), we went with Motosat because it is a true dish without any plastic diminishing its signal reception. It's a bit more expensive, because it's made in the USA, but we like the maintenance software support: when the satellite providers make a change in their satellite identification, as an example, the company puts out a software update on their website which allows us to make the changes right away.
In the end, if it works for you, then it is the right choice.
