Paul

When I went to get Paul the other day he told me that they told him he would be coming home for good in 2 weeks. We will see as I got a phone call that same day from his social worker that said she had talked to Paul's doctor and he said Paul needed additional care. So I have my fingers crossed but can't say for sure till Paul is home and sleeping in bed. He seems to be getting more and more agitated there. He is noticing things with the staff that he never noticed before and is voicing his opinion more. That is a good thing because that shows the staff that he is alert and not just another number. He is only the 2nd person in the last 5 years that would leave that place alive. I am not just saying that I am serious. The charge nurse told me she could think of nothing more favorable then to see him come home. I guess where he is staying is usually the last resort a family takes when their loved one is unable to care for themselves. I don't want to see that happen to Paul. He is only 61 years old and still has a lot of life to live. He says he wants out of there so bad he can taste it. I guess he got into a verbal fight with his physical therapist about going to one dining room or the other and told her off. That's the old Paul I knew. There are 2 dining rooms and he is suppose to be walking to the farthest one so that he gets use to walking distances. She told him he should be going to the closest one. That made him mad. He said that the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing! That cracked me up. His sense of humor is back and we do a lot of laughing when we are together. I try to not let him see how hard this has been on me. I don't want him to have anything more to worry about. I include him in all the decisions I make even if it is just to have him think he is making them. We laugh about this being a 2 stroke family! He said if we had 2 more people with strokes we could have a 4 stroke! He still isn't out of the woods so don't stop praying.
Thanks again for letting me bend your ears. I really appreciate having the ability to communicate with all our family and friends this way.
God Bless and peace, love and good health to all of you.

Kathi, you just keep on hanging in there with that wonderful attitude you have. We'll keep the prayers going for you. It is great that either of you can still have a sense of humor. God Bless.

A wonderful report, Kathy. We will continue to pray that you will soon have Paul at home with you, a sure sign of his recovery.

Great news. Tell Paul to continue to work on that two stroke engine and get it tuned well. Glad he is standing up for his own and showing them he is still fighting.
Our prayers are with all.
Cheers,

Kathi,

It's great to hear the "old" Paul is making a comeback. We hope he continues to improve and gets home soon because we're thinking of heading to Glacier after the Mt. Shasta MOC gathering in May and sure would like to meet you folks if possible.
