Refilling small propane bolltes

A while back, I saw an article on how to refill small (b-b-q type)propane bottles from a larger bottle. Does anyone remember or have the link?

There is an adaptor for it, I know Harbor Freight has them, I have one, used it a few times, it works Ok. There is a potential for disaster, so be aware of that.

Make sure you freeze the small cylinder for an hour or two before you try and fill it and follow all instructions to the letter. I have an old 5# cylinder that can't be refilled because it is no longer PC and I do the same with that using a hose I rigged up.

We purchased a little one gallon propane bottle, and have no issues getting it filled the same as the 7 gallon bottles. It takes up very little space, just need the hose from the tank to the BBQ. It also lasts a very long time between fills.

For me, not enough of a cost savings or quantity used to justify the risk of something going horribly wrong. JMHO
