Solar purchase on it's way to Ozzland
After a conversation with John Walker
(7.3Ford) (Thank you John for some great input.)
After wondering if this was overkill, I pretty much figured Monte owners get by with much less Solar.
I scaled back my order a bit. I had listed 3 Toppoint Solar 190 Mono panels and 3 SolarWorld 315 Watt Mono panels and two controllers. I conversed with John about the real-world Solar life, and he suggested I would be happy with 945 Watts with my 6 6-volt batteries. The last outing we had 2 winters ago, we Inverted all afternoon/evening and charged back up with one Honda 2000i, it worked well.
So, that cut off about $1500 or so from the order.
I called Dan at NAWS, we worked and order up and it is being assembled for shipment. Now, many nights fighting the dreams of installing the system and trying to get a good nights sleep.
More weight on the Montana, walls already full of wiring. I will have an electro-magnet rolling down the road.
I would like to also thank John Kohl, Joe (Jolu) and Les (BigBoomer) for their input and support.
There will be pictures.

Ozz,
Congrats and good luck with your new system. Glad to hear you were able to get your design that you want and I am sure being the mechanic you are it will be a snap to install.
Looking forward to seeing the pictures.
Have fun.
Les

"I will have an electro-magnet rolling down the road."
Now if you can figure out how to attract yourself to an eighteen wheeler or box truck going in your direction, you could cruse along at 50 mpg or better!
