Outside flood/scare light LED conversion

I have a new 2013 3402rl and I'm thinking about changing out the flood/scare lights to LED bulbs. Has anyone done this? I don't even have a clue what bulbs are up in those big things. I need to get a ladder out and have a look I guess. I'm curious if there is a suitable lumen output LED bulb that I would be happy with. Thoughts? Thanks much.

Mark,

LED's for the scare lights will work fine. We have changed all of our 12v lights inside and out to LED's and could not be happier. Much better quality light than the incandescent lights, less heat and much more energy efficient. Contact MOC Members "snfexpress"(Michael & Kat) at this link: http://www.filamentfree.com/ and they will hook you up with high quality LEDs at a good price. Mention that you are a MOC Member to get an additional discount.

We also use bulbs from Michael & kat. I think they're brighter than the original.

We bought some LED's from Camping World. The light was harsh white and much dimmer than the incandescent. We took them back and reverted to our originals. Looks like we now have a source through Michael & kat. to get the right thing.

You will not be disappointed with Michael & Kat's product. Us and many others that have gotten LEDs from them are more than pleased with the product and price!

We are 100% LED and when we were fulltiming, we could get by with less than a gallon of gasoline in our Honda generators for the entire overnite. If we needed an A/C, we would have one genny on full and the other on Eco. Still got about 13 hours on less than 2 gallons of fuel.

We use the BA15 S24 for the scare lights. Very bright and still in warm white.

We got our LEDs from Michael and Kat (Filament Free LEDs) and we used their web site information to match our previous bulb size/numbers to their replacement LEDs. Our Monty came with mostly LEDs and we have now changed to all LEDs, it all turned out well including the outside lights.

The following quote is directly from my eu2000i Companion manual. >>>>

"During parallel operation, the Eco-Throttle switch should be in the
same position on both generators."

Probably has to do with power balance through the their internal inverter units, and them playing nicely together. I'm no electrical engineer, but it could be you are shortening the life of the electronics in your gennys by having the Eco-Switches in different positions while they are connected together for parallel operation.

Overlord,

You may be correct. We have used our Hondas this way since 2006 and have put hundreds and hundreds of hours on them - we did a lot of boondocking!

Thanks for the tip!

The LED's we purchased on eBay work great in: 1) the porch light, 2) the scare lights, and 3) the three lights above our bathroom vanity. They give off as much light as the incandescents they replaced.

Look for this on eBay:

6 x RV Marine & Auto LED Bulb 1141 1003 Base Tower 280 LUM 12 or 24v 11560040-06
