Disk Brakes addition
Went to the Houston RV Show yesterday. There was a display there selling Titan disk brakes retro kits ( www.titan-intl.com) Complete kit includes controller, hoses, lines, connectors, rotors, calipers, brackets, seals, bearings, basically everything needed to install. Show price for their 6K axles kit $1225.82, includes freight.
Has anyone utilized this brand or know anything good or negative?
Seriously considering purchasing, dealer said 8-10 hr install time.

I like my disc brakes done by MorRyde. I had their IS installed also because I did not feel the factory installed suspension (springs, Spring Hangers) could handle the extra 40% breaking. That extra 40% braking to my thinking meant 40% more torque on the already maxed out axles. Just something to think about.
Good luck.

If you have to pay the labor to have them installed and some forgotten extras not in the kit on broke or couldn't be used the price is easly another $1000-1500.

That is a good price if everything is included, brakes, bearings, hydro lines and actuator. The price I got from the show in Los Angeles last Oct. was $1900.

Does your 5er have an 8 bolt pattern? I'm having problems finding 8 bolt disc brakes conversion for 6K axles. Titan site shows 6 bolt pattern. Do you know, does the 7K axle kit fit the 6K Dexter axle.

Yes, eight bolt pattern wheels on 7k brakes on 6k axles. That is the way Keystone built it. I replaced electric 7k brakes with the 13 inch 7K disk brakes from Titan/Kodiak. Install cost me $700.00. All in all well worth the time and money. Braking is much better! Just had trailer weighted at Escapees-Livingston. Pulling 3100 RL with 2011 Dodge Laramie, 1 ton dually, 4wd truck, both well under limits. Ready for full time.
