Another mod will be needed (MOC Input needed!)

I had posted previously about the Furrion shore cord that had come with the 3750 instead of the cheaply built shore cord that had come on our previous model. Sure enough, the new 3850FL came with one of the cheapo shore cords. We left it in the 3750 and brought our Furrion with us. The next thing I noticed on the new 3850 is that in addition to being equipped with a cheapo shore cord it is also equipped with a cheapo 50 amp receptacle. The 3750 had a Furrion lighted receptacle like this one:

Furrion Receptacle

I see a mod in the works since this receptacle provides a much more sturdy connection that does not require the 90 degree pig tail. Guess I will be using the touch-up paint to make the receptacle match what is on the rig, since they painted it to match the gray on the bottom portion. If there is not enough paint, I assume our dealer can get additional paint to match?

Tom,
I like that one too, and you got me to looking further. There are more options than I thought, including black and a titanium color, either of the three are a better alternative to paint. Here are the options I found:

Furrion Receptacles

Decisions, decisions, guess I could ask my "MOC buddies (as DW calls them)" what they think would look best. Here is what the rear of the rig looks like for reference:

Black, Titanium or Stainless? What sayeth the MOC??

Bingo,
I missed your earlier post about the Furrion shore cord. I tried doing a search and didn't find it. Can you point me in the right direction?

Thanks,

Ken

Ken,
Here is what we held on to from the 3750:

Furrion 50 amp 30 foot Shore Cord

Ours is a couple year earlier model, but has the same features.

Bingo, what drew me to the stainless one is it looks like a fuel cap. I just want to see the looks on peoples faces when I plug in to my 'fuel tank'!

I like it, just don't know if it will blend with the rig, leaning towards either the black or the platinum. Black would probably work better since most of the other details (hatch latches, kitchen vent, dryer vent, etc.) are black. Gotta hunch that I will probably end up going with whatever DW thinks looks best!!

I like the Stainless too. It will off set your ladder back there and if you make a name tag for it. JET FUEL

I agree with that, but DW has decided on black since all other miscellaneous items on the rig are black. I agree with her more, sorry MOC buddies!
