Truck bed height issues on Montana?
Hey guys,
I was wondering if the bed (liftover) height on the late model trucks can cause a problem on the Montana?
Looking at Dodge, their figure is 57" on the 2012 3500 CC 4x4.
Thanks in advance

Thanks for the quick replies! Is it safe to assume all of the Montana line is the same with regard to this dimension? Specifically, I am looking at the 345DBQ.

I don't know. I do have the mor ryde hitch on mine. And the pin height is adjustable, which would affect the height above your tailgate.

I must say, Krusher, from the looks of your picture, I would have guessed you might have clearance issues!

Anyone have any clearance issues with the late model Fords? I'm new to fifth wheels... If you have the choice of adjusting the height on the pin and the hitch, is one preferred over the other for any reason??
Thanks.

Nope, none. It has a full 7 inches of rail clearance when hitched, and trailer is perfectly level. That site in the picture slopes to the back, so the front of the trailer is pitched down.

I have the Reese under bed rails and the Elite 18K hitch that I installed myself as Ford was not yet putting them on when I got my truck. The trailer has the MorRyde pinbox. The combination is perfect.

I have a 2010 Dodge 3500 4x4 and have 7 inches of rail clearance with the trailer almost perfectly level. The only problem I have encountered is that the back of the MorRyde pin box will clip the bed rails when turning beyond 70 degrees or so if the truck and trailer are not on level ground. I just make sure to get the DW to keep a good eye on it when doing any tight maneuvering.
