Suggestions for CG In Deadwood, SD

Can anyone recommend some nice CG in the Deadwood, SD area. Planning a trip out that way in the Spring.

Thanks

RKassl,

Give the link below a shot and see if it gets the ball rolling:

South Dakota RV Campgrounds

When we were near there we stayed just south of Hill City in the Bar J Rafter RV park. It is huge and very close to Mt. Rushmore.

Enjoy your trip. Just make sure you're not anywhere near the Sturgis motorcycling gathering. It gets really crazy. My brother rides a bike and has been to the last couple of gatherings. But if you ride a bike then that is where you want to be.

Also stayed in Hill City at Bar J Rafter. Was there during bike week. No way to really sight because of all the motorcycles and I was on mine. Suggest going at a diff time than early Aug.

Very close to Deadwood is Whistler's Gulch RV Park. We had a good experience there in 2005 and would stay there again without hesitation. The only drawbacks that I can recall were that TV service was very limited, and the views were impacted by the devastation of a recent wildfire.

Try Fish N Fry Campground south of Deadwood. Small but nice.

Sturgis is in August!
Unless you are a biker - you may want to avoid that area at that time. Or, dress the part.

Like RedRover...we stayed at Fish N Fry and liked it. It has a nice stream running thru it and fish pond you can catch your dinner in.
