Adventures in Air Conditioning

Humility is never far from my life experience. I have full timed in my 3295RK, well it will be 2 years in Nov. And I learned something new today about my AC. I had to work up the self dicipline to wash the AC filter...only 3 weeks behind the scheduled date. Anyway, when replacing the dried filter I noticed the smaller grill work was dirty. My wife handed me a damp paper towel and i dabbed away. Whoa!! It moved.

Yep, the grill was the closed cold air outlet. No wonder the kitchen was hard to cool.

Hey, I sacrefice my image to share a tip for those non-handy types (like me) that are out there.

BTW coming up to the 2 year point I am very happy with my Montana.

Actually that grill is the quick cool feature. When you open it you will diminish the air flow through your ductwork to other distant parts of your unit.

I will have the vent open during the day and at night close it forcing more cool air into the bedroom and bath. It also works well open when first getting set up for a quicker cool down of the living area.

And now it's time to clean my filter which I keep putting off.

Dave and Glenn,
Thanks for further clarifying the feature and how to use it most effectively. Knowledge is power!
