Exterior Care
We have been in our 3400RL for almost six months now. It is our first rig, and I want to maintain it the best I can. I am kind of a fanatic about our vehicles. They get washed very regularly, and waxed at least twice a year. I have searched the archives and could not find where anyone made a specific recommendation as to how often the exterior should be waxed, and with what products. Any advice would be appreciated.

I can't help you here, as I have never waxed any RV I've ever had, and that's the reason I bought the gel coat!

I use spray turtle wax twice a year on both the pickup and the TT. Works great. It's easy to apply and easy to buff off. Also, I can spray it in the wheel wells and keeps rust from forming in there. I'm like you-like to keep the vics clean and shiney.

Drjjj. on page 55 of my Montana manual it states "Care of the Filon finish is similar to caring for a new car. Any finish will deterioriate over time. Exposure to extreme sunlight, pollutants and excessive moisture can cause dulling, fading and yellowing., Regular washing and periodic waxing will help maintain the glossy new look. When washing, use a mild, automotive or RV wash solution, available at your dealer, being sure to rinse off any loose debris first. Avoid sprayin water directly into the furnace and refrigerator vents (DUH). Waxing the Filon areas twice a year is recommended. Wax with an automotive wax or polish developed for boats. Follow all directions by the wax manufacturer carefully and remember to wash and wax out of direct sunlight and when surfaces are cool". It also lists procedures for cleaning the ABS Plastic/molded parts, the roof and any metal surfaces. Manual is available to download from the Keystone site or to just peruse it. Chapter 9.
Hope this helps somewhat.

Any auto or boat wax or polish. Just be sure it mentions it is okay for use on fiberglass...some (very few) are not recommended.
