Macerator need

We are headed on a trip this summer to the North and East. Will go thru Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, MOC Rally in Indiana, then down to Pennsylvania, who knows from there.
I have investigated the possibility of purchasing a Flojet macerator. Camping World has them for $265.00 on sale. However are they really needed? Extra weight, expense, etc. How many of ya'll use them, are they worth the cost. I had heard they are required in some areas?

We use a Sewer Solutions which uses a water jet to break down the waste. We have found it very good and it combined with Happy Camper the solids are already mostly broken down before you dump.

We've camped in all the area's you mentioned as well as in the south west and we don't own one and haven't ever seen a place we needed one.

We always carry our Flo-Jet and two hundred feet of hose. When we leave on a trip we never no where we might end up. Sometimes we stay at farms or a private home and we have no problem pumping up to two hundred feet. If you are only going to stay in campground or RV Parks I really don't see the need, we have never used ours in one.

I use ours at home so we can use the Monte as a guest house while at home & be able to drain the tanks into our septic via a clean-out. Haven't had to use it anywhere else yet.

IMHO, more stuff to carry along. Don't have one but a probably good investment. Like generators in the Monte. Examine or survey how many times you use it for the investment.

We love our Flojet, but I think you can find a better price: http://bit.ly/13KnhqS

We rarely use ours in campgrounds, but frequently use it when we dump at home into our sewer cleanout in the front yard. When camping in remote areas, we can use our Flojet to empty our tanks via our designated garden hose even uphill. You'll have to decide whether the advantages of owning one out weigh the expense. For us it did.

Wow Rainer! That's the one I've been looking for but the price has been up there. THAT is a GREAT PRICE for it and by far the lowest price I've ever seen. DW has really been wanting one for the trailer when using it as overflow for guests. I think I'm just gonna have to break down and get it finally!

Thanks for the link!
