One yellow top Optima deep cycle battery. One thing that I also did, was to install the "smart chip" in the Iota charger, so the battery would be "properly" charged and maintained.

We run two 12 volt type 27 Marine/deep cycle batteries in parallel which are 2 years old now with no problems. We have boondocked for 2 weeks at a time by just charging the batteries with a gen set on a regular basis. Batteries still show and maintain a excellent load test.

2 6-volt batteries, 3 1/2 years old, held charge all winter stored outside (bat disconnect open). I also installed the smart chip in the IOTA converter.

Our new 3100RL was delivered a few weeks ago with 2 deep cycle 12V batteries. I'm in the process of replacing them with the 4 12V AGM batteries which I removed from our previous Montana.
