Stained Kitchen Sink in new 3000RK

We have a new (March 2010) 3000RK with rear kitchen and the Corian counter top. The sink has stained badly in spots. We took trailer in this past week for several repairs to be done within first year and they said that the whole counter top would have to be replaced in order to replace the sink. Don't really like the idea of ripping out all of counter top to fix stains in sink. Afraid of other damage that might be done while replacing. Has anyone else had stain problems, and if so is there a good cleaner or a way of refinishing the sink in place?

Have you tried bleach? Soak a rag with it and place over the top of the stain.
We have a '08 2955 with the fiberglass counter/sink assbly and that's what we have done when it start to show stains.
Corian should clean up even better as the colour is right through. We had it in our shower at the house - great stuff.

There is a product called "Soft Scrub" that does contain bleach and was recommended to us by a Corian rep (?) at Home Depot. We use it not only to take out stains in the Corian sink but also on the rest of the Corian countertop to clean and disinfect it...great stuff.

I don't know what kind of "stains" you have, but we had some brown stain spots in ours after we picked it up. We used "Soft Scrub with Bleach", the gel product, and it took care of the stains. We continue to use it in the kitchen & bath sinks, shower/tub and toilet. It has been working really well for us.

If the stains are really bad, you may want to spread the cleaner around in the sink and let it sit for a bit before rinsing it. You should also check out this link: Corian Care and type "sink stains" in the search box at the top right corner and several topics will show up.

If none of the above works and you don't want to have everything replaced (I don't blame you), I would contact a kitchen place that deals in Corian and ask their opinion. I hope this helps and let us know how it turns out.

Low abrasive gel or cream such as "Vim" works very well.
