Adding a Battery.

I have my new 3120RL on order, and want to add an extra battery or two. I have the generator option, so that space is taken. My question is... is there room for an extra battery in the battery compartment? If I remember, it seemed pretty tight in there. Any suggestions and a picture would be a great help.

You will have room for multiple batteries.

If you really want the cat's meow, add 4-6 volt Trojan batteries. I've got power for days....

Four 6 volt is a great way to go. May be a tight fit with your generator.

Just remember, your rig comes with no batteries from the factory. Your selling dealer installs the battery(ies), so you can either have the dealer install whatever you want, or just let him install whatever they might install, and then you will have to replace it with what you want.

Mine only had one battery when I bought it. I don't have a generator and I don't boondock. But coming from the boating world I like having 2 batteries. So I installed a second battery plus a marine battery selector/disconnect switch so I can select either Bat 1 Bat 2, all or off.
Since you have a generator,IMHO, I would install a dedicated battery, separate from your house batteries, just for starting the generator. This way if you have any battery issues you can still start your gen.

We had two batteries installed and it looks like there is plenty of room if a third or more is desired. Might have to stack them though.

The inverter was pretty efficient during our drycamping test and no issues running out of juice to watch movies after quiet time in the campground required generatons to be off. Only a couple of plugs, the TV, dvd player and frig run off the inverter by the way... there are no 5Vdc USB outlets running directly from the batteries. The USB outlets in our 2020 3120RL are dependant on a transformer in the popup receptacles converting 110Vac to 5Vdc. Lights all run on DC so it seems really weird that there isnt 5Vdc USB outlets for charging phones.
