Fireplace help on a 3000RK
Our 3000RK does not have the fireplace in it so I am looking at installing one. My opening is 23x20 (roughly) which is no problem since Dimplex makes a fireplace that is 23x20 but the problem is the depth. I removed the wood panel in the spot where the fireplace goes and here are all the water lines and the telephone and cable lines that come in from outside. I have maybe 8 inches or room and then I am up against the water lines. Almost all the fireplaces I found are 10 inches. Has anyone installed a fireplace in a 3000RK and what did you do with the water lines. Thanks

I installed one in our 3000RK a couple of years ago.. I had no problem with the depth.. Did not remove the panel at the back.. I found a fireplace in Lowes that would work.. It does not have a glass front on it. The wire in the upper right hand corner is for my wireless headphones. I think I paid about $200 for the fireplace.. but not sure about that.. I removed the doors and covered the screw holes up with trim.

I have the same 5'er you do but mine came with the fireplace in it. I have had it out to clean and check wiring but I don't remember seeing the plumbing and wiring you mentioned. I think it had a panel as LFW mentioned. I'll try and get the model number of my Dimplex. I think if it fit in mine it should fit in yours but you may need to add the back panel and push the lines and wiring back an inch or two. Jim

We installed one in our 2955 Montana. We had the same problem so I searched the internet and found this company.

It looks like they have a few that will fit your spot. Check the Classic Flame models.

I bought a Classic Flame fireplace insert from the same place Don mentioned above. It is only 8 1/2" deep, but a little smaller front than you specified. That site has a lot of choices. Maybe one will fit what you need.

I do have the blank panel blocking off the back of the cabinet, but with it in there is only 7 1/2 inchs of space. I did find Classic Flame fireplaces last nite searching and they are only 9 inchs deep and may be able to get one of those in. I may have to try and cut the floor of the cabinet out where the water lines come up thru and may be able to move them a little more further back. Only problem with them is they are so stiff and don't wanna flex much. Yeah lfw I was heading to Lowes today to see what they had left over, but being in Texas I kinda doubt there is much in the way of a furnace still left this time of the year. lol But you never know, if it's there now it's probably on clearance.

When measuring remember on a lot of them have some of the body is sticking out so it doesn't go back as far as we think. Mine is 8" but is only about 7" inside the opening, I forgot about this at first and when I realized it I found my Fireplace.

Well I am likin the Classic Flame 23 inch insert that is only 9 inchs deep. Figure if anything I can build out the opening an inch or so with trim to accomodate the depth and still clear the slide with lots of room yet.

Been on the road and just got back on the forum. Can't see the model number w/o pulling the unit. On mine the water lines are running parallel to the wall on the left side. My dimplex, when installed in the opening, has about an inch gap on that side so it accomadates the water lines. It is 12"'s deep and has a 2" void to the back panel. Must build them different if not manufactured with a fireplace in it. Jim

Wow evidently, mine is an 06 too but my lines come up thru the floor of the cabinet and then into the bathroom walls, along with the hose coming in from outside for the fresh tank fill and all the wires. Hmmmmm just my luck lol lol....but like I said I found the Classic Flame and it is only 9 inches deep so I should be able to make it fit.
