New Monty - 3100RL

Well, it was such a nice day today and we decided to take a drive. We went looking at the new Montana's for the heck of it and ended up purchasing a new rig. We bought a 2012 3100RL, Hickory Edition. Some of the included options are: King size bed, Morryde suspension package, 4 door refer, Fireplace.

We traded in our 2004 2980RL Montana on it. So much more room and comfortable. We fell in love with it at first sight! They have sure made a lot of improvements on them over the last 8 years. WOW!

We are scheduled to bring the old one in and pick up the new rig next Friday, Aug. 5th. Now we have the long and terrible wait until then to sit in it again and drool all over it. Can't wait to get it!!

Anyone have the 3100RL model and what are your thoughts on it?

Wish us luck and patience until it we pick it up!! We feel like kids at Christmas Time!!

We received ours (3100RL - 2011)in Feburary. Just returned home after a two and a half month, 7500 mile, nine state voyage. We just love the rig. only three problems, (1)bathroom gray and black tanks labeled backwards - easy fix. (2)bathroom gray, dump cable kinked, had Camping World in New Mexico fix (warranty). (3) toilet started leaking at water connection, bought a new one and replaced, sent for warranty to Keystone. We pull with a 2011 Dodge 3500 DRW, if you are not carefull, you'all forget it back there. Only thing we don't care for is with front AC installed we are 13'4", hooked up, but have learned to live with it. There is a blank board with 4 screws under the fridge, with a couple of hindges and a catch, it can be converted to storage. We understand about the wait - it can be soooo long. Good luck!

We picked ours up in May and have since put on about 7K miles. We just got back from a 2 month trip and are leaving for another week in the morning. We had a few problems, 1-the mother board went out on the fridge. 2-the slide hydraulics were leaking and a few other small things all of which were taken care of by the dealer on the way home. Love the floor plan and just hope it holds up well in the long run.

We've had our 3100 since March 31st and have spent 94 nights in it to date. Absolutely love it and no issues so far.

Wait a minute.... I thought today, Aug 4, there is only one more day to wait. Hmmm, maybe since you posted so late you figured it might as well have been one more day.

With some of these early problems, I hope your PDI goes well. Find those nits THERE, then get them fixed, THEN take the rig home. I hope you don't find anything wrong. Taking the rig back is such a pain.

I checked out the floorplan diagram and I hope your rig does not come with a 17" awning. It should be 17'

Are you using the same hitch? It sure doesn't seem like you need to change it. Many Montys are over the 15,000 mark, but the GTWR on this model (14,235 according to the website) is way under 15K, therefore the hitch should be good and still have some margin.

Then it's Best of Luck and Adventures with the new Montana! Yeeha!!!

IT'S HERE!!!

We picked it up last Friday and brought our new Baby Home!

During the walk through we only found one problem and that was some scratches in the kitchen counter top. They are going to replace the counter top for us and then we should be good to go. Other then that we love it. We have been sitting in it each night when we get home and can't wait to take it out on it's maiden campout. I am hoping to get a weeks vacation in the next couple weeks and see how it feels. Getting tried of camping in the driveway. It was a little sad to leave our old 5th wheel there in the parking lot and drive away.

Art-n-Marge - Yes it has the 17 foot awning. I measured it myself!

Thanks everyone for the kind words and thoughts. Hopefully we will be able to meet some of you along the road somewhere and share a camp fire with you. The first cold one is on me!
