wet bolts have zerk fittings in them so you can apply grease to prevent wear and tear. They are installed in the leaf spring shackles on the suspensions. The kits also come with heavier hardware as well. Several have installed theirs themselves but we had ours put on by a shop since it looked to be more than I wanted to tackle.
ps: welcome to the MOC and don't be shy.

Wet bolts are bolts that have a zerk fitting on them so you can lubricate the wear points on the suspension. They come as part of a kit that includes much heavier hangers and bushings. The suspension components are marginal and can easily wear to destruction if you do a fair amount of travelling.
There have been other threads about replacing the bolts, as well as making sure the U bolts are properly tightened, and problems with the hangers that attach the springs to the frame. These are all critical suspension points that should be checked on a regular basis.

Ah HA !! Know I know the secret of the wet bolt. Sure makes a lot of sense to me and will be on my project list. it looks like I'll be doing several projects before I even go anywhere.
By the way, thanks for the welcomes from everybody ! I watched this website for 3 years before purchasing our unit. This was a huge reason to send me to a Montana purchase.

I made the mistake by having this done at my Monty dealer and that was a mistake because I had the rig in there twice for warranty work and they were looking for my dollars to. They charged me $1,000 out the door, and that was WAY TOO HIGH.
The kits can run no higher than $250 (and that's at the high end). Labor depends on the shop, and the equipment they have, but I've seen anywhere between $250 and $400. I think my dealer pocketed $750 - did I mention that I think that was WAY TOO HIGH?

I ordered ours directly from MorRyde at $149 plus shipping. Installation is pretty straight forward and if you search the forum you find many tips on doing it.
Just don't take it to Art's dealer!!!!
