Reference post 12 thru 18 about using the Level-Up system to change a tire.

We won’t purchase a trailer with hydraulic front jacks because they can’t raise the trailer high enough to move our steam engine from the truck to the basement.

That post has nothing to do with the steam engine it has to do with we will not own a trailer with hydraulic front jacks because they don’t lift the trailer high enough!!!

So I will still need the plywood and blocks I mention in post #10

I only mention the steam engine because a number of members of this forum have ridden on my wife’s train that we carry in the basement.

The electric mechanical front legs raise the basement floor up level with the truck bed.

I would have to have 3 ft high blocks to use the hydraulic jacks that come on the front of the level-up system to do the same thing.

I have a picture of loading the small steam locomotive in to the trailer but am unable to find it at this time.

However here are some videos of the small steam engine running. This is a 1/8 scale model of the Friend of Charleston however it is not correct in many details. The Friend of Charleston was the first commercially operated locomotive in the US.

I also have put the ¼ scale model Case steam traction engine in the trailer here is a video of it running in the front yard.

If you go to http://www.sallyscoffees.com you can see a lot more of the stuff we play with.

The picture on the home page at Sally’s is the largest model steam engine we have carried in the Montana it weight about 1,000 Lbs.

They all have whistles that long thing under the floor board and over the 2 rear wheels in the picture on Sally’s is the whistle for that one.

Phil I see you are a RR buff. If you are ever through Roanoke Va up I81 stop and see our old J class 611 engine. It’s almost a million pounds 5000 HP. The fastest steam passenger engine ever built. It can sustain 110 MPH under load. It was built right here in Roanoke at the Norfolk and Western shops. It’s in the transportation museum.
Our neighbor has a 1/8 model train. Or I think that the size. He has several hundreds of yards of track close to a half mile with a 80 foot tunnel, a trussel and a 40 foot bridge a custom built building to keep the train in. The thousands of cross ties were custom cut and treated at Koppers tie treatment plant. If you would like to see it I’m sure the owner would be happy to show it.

Thanks for the offer we plan on doing the NE as soon as the stick house sells.

I think I have found out why the real estate guy has not been getting much response to his advertising. He has the house listed as a Mobile/manufactured home when it is a frame house.

He has corrected that now we will see what happens.
