TST TPMS way off

Hi folks. I have a tst tpms 507 system. I use flow-thru sensors on my 6 dually tires and my 4 Montana tires.

In the past the unit has seemed pretty accurate. Lately it’s pretty far off. I first use a compressor with an inflation valve with gauge to top of the tires. Then I use a digital gauge to check them in case the inflation gauge is off.

Then I turn on the tpms and all the tires show 5-8 psi lower, which starts to trigger low pressure alarms. My alarms are set at 20% higher for high pressure alarm, and 10% lower for low pressure alarm.

I don’t know why the readings are off. Since two prior gauges are consistent (inflation gauge and digital gauge) I am guessing it’s the tpms that is off.

Any help here? I’m pretty confused about this anomaly.

Give TST a call. They were very responsive when I had a problem, even out of warranty: 770-889-9102

I agree, TST is great to work with.

If you every get an alarm and your pressure is >500 PSI, it's because you have the old firmware and you have a repeater. Usually happens in camp grounds or truck stops where there are lots of repeaters. The firmware upgrade is free, but a new monitor is $99 and it's color and bright.

Bright is what I need now for myself+age dimming eyes. I too have a repeater though not had any problem beyond ease of seeing the readout on a bright day .... . Oh well $99 bucks wont break the piggy bank

I have the old style flow throughs. I have 7 on my dually and 5 on my RV (I have them on the spares also). My presures are usually off 2-4 Psi depending on the sensor. I have a Dill tire pressure gauge calibration station so I know my gauges are accurate. I talked to TST about it and it says on their website:
The sensors have a 3-4% tolerance for pressure and temperature.

I find that the tire pressure monitors read low for about the first 5 minutes of driving, and then come up to speed rapidly and are accurate after that. I too have TST TPMS 507 flow thru system, and this my second set, and has the repeater. I noticed both sets read low for about 5 minutes of driving. I always check the morning of each departure with my physical gauge, in case we picked up a nail and have a slow leak, and do not notice it before taking off. So I know the pressures are fine, and the TPMS is about 4-5 psi lower when I first start rolling.
