My mom ALWAYS called me by my first and middle name, Jerry Joe, an oldtime Kansas thing but my friends just call me Jerry or JJ. So my MOC handle isn't too cleaver. However I just saw a handle that made me laugh out loud on a site while looking for a campground. This camper goes by the handle CHIGGERFOOD. If you've camped in the South, you can appreciate the handle.

'cleaver' isn't 'clever' is it?

Well I had many questions on this at the rally and some people tried to pronounce it as a word. Sounded pretty funny to me, but I could understand the confusion.

Well do you all remember the Television Station Bands VHF channels 2 thru 13 and UHF 14 thru 69)

Well when the web was first developed [(by Al Gore) Joke].

Back in the early 80's I was working on the UHF radar transmitter(TX) abbreviation for Transmit.

UHFTX = Ultra High Frequency Transmit

I'm still responsible for the transmitter and all the other hardware including the antenna's and So much more.

In fact the driver for the final transmit tubes. (Which I still use) is the one used to detect and track the first Soviet Sputnik satellite. Talk about a Smithsonian piece of hardware.

Well you asked, and its not very creative. But the middle three characters form a pyramid on the keyboard. So my veggies will last longer if I keep them under the keyboard. (everyone knows the power of the pyramid)

So when can I look forward to the CRS syndrome Maybe I'll need to make a checklist to tie my shoes (nah slip on shoes are much easier)

Both Kaye and I are amateur radio operators (Hams). I am KM4QE and she is KE4TYF. When I chose Hamcamper as our user name we lived in Smithfield, VA the Ham Capitol of the world. So, it seemed appropriate to use Hamcamper.

Off subject a bit

Erwin, you must know the Pembroke Gwaltney home in Smithfield?? He married Estelle Darden, she is/was a distant cousin of mine.

Smithfield is a great little town!

Ours is in reference to our first Ford F-250 diesel, color red. It was 2001 with only 17,000 miles when it was totaled in B.C. Canada on our first major trip after being retired for 1 month. Headon collision with a Dodge Colt when the guy fell asleep at the wheel. Not pulling the trailer(luckly) and the person was cut out of his car and lived. Almost gave up RVing until we came to our senses.

After reading everyones post I decided to add myself to the growing list.
I was just 49 at the time I got my first user name. What I wanted was taken (just49)so I just added (1)+(48) which came out to be just148, and 1+48=49.

Mine is easy, Old GI, that's what I am. My wife says you can take the First Sergeant out of the Army, but you will never get the Army out of the First Sergeant....true.

I chose "Navigator" because I'm the one that has to navigate us to where we're going, hopefully without any detours!!

We're leaving Sunday for our first 2 week trip (long for us) in our 3400. It shouldn't be too hard to navigate that. Next summer we hope to spend 3-4 months on an Alaskan adventure. It's been 20 yrs. since I lived in Anchorage and I hear it's grown a lot.

Well we started using the first two letters of our first names, John and Dorothy for our License plate, thus JODO. Then we bought a Class C motor home and needed another plate, thus GoJODO.

In an earlier thread, same topic, I explained at some length that "sreigle" is properly "sr eagle". I was raised in an eagle aerie in Mexico and thus became Senor Eagle. Through no fault of my own this eventually translated erroneously to "sr eigle" and, later, "sreigle". I will refrain from going into all the details here but I believe that information may still be available in the archives.

Mine came to be while I was choosing my first 5th wheel. I had my decision down to the "Montana" 3400RL and a "Big Sky" unit. I picked Montana Sky, that way no matter which coach I chose, my screen name would work.

This is a fun post! During the Spring Rally at Mt. Shasta, this was a discussion at the ""Meet and Greet, which we had missed. So I am loving the chance to read all the other explainations. For us... as you can tell by our signature, we do not own a Montana, and our trailer is not a 5th wheel. I have a sister who owns a Montana and who is a member. She had invited us to attend a rally and we enjoyed the people soooo much. In the future ( when we retire Our plans are to own a Montana ). Well since we seem to crash the party's and follow my sister at times. We thought it was best that we became known as the "PartyCrashers"....hey! it was better then "Tag-a-longs" or "SOB's" ( some other brand )

My user name is Fire5re because I am a fire fighter, and we hope to have our Montana 4375RL by spring of 2007.... so I went with Fire5er.
