Ouch final happened after 15 yrs

Well it finally happened : we were camping Labor Day weekend and I went down Thursday to set up camp wig
Hole the Dw was working . I got to the campground and everything is first come so I find a empty spot and back in bit didn't like the tree that was there going to rub my slide out ,
So I moved to another site no it's concrete pad with extra pad on left side for table grill etc,,, I was backed in and at a little angle so I stopped and got out and looked around and seen I had room to come back and straighten out, the picnic table and grill was clear on my left so I started backing in and CRUNCH,#128545;#128545; I didn't see the three foot tall 2x6 shelf 3 feet long behind me , cracked the back fiberglass cap and ladder and lower j rap panel , took to my dealer and estimate was $6200.00 , I have State Farm insurance and a $1000 deductible , could have been worse not bad for 15 yrs doing this but still made me #128545;#128545;even after I checked and walked around,
On another note the trip 3 weeks before we blew 2 tires China bombs on same trip only damage was to kitchen slide where I can replace the Jean panel and plastic fender shirt, they did finally ship the tire to Goodyear so I'm hoping to get money back for tires and repair,,#128512;#128512; yes I did replace all 4 with G614's at $1350 but that problem is at ease with good tires now , hoping to get Monty back for some October camping ,, happy travels and always check behind even for those pesky out of eyesight level monsters waiting to attack

Things happen. We have the rear cameras and never back in without wife or myself back there but we still managed to take out a tree a few years ago.

Mistakes happen. The only difference between a little accident and a big one is the little one does no damage the big one kills someone. This one falls near the little one. Fix it and move on.

Yes I do have a rear view camera and the wife is usually with me but this time she wasn't , I got the camera due to reading one of your posts
Don't know why I wasn't looking in it but then again that thing was so small and out of eyesight
Mlh your right lucky it was a little one, that's why we have insurance fix it and go forward

Sorry to say, there will be days like that. Things can go downhill very quickly and it’s difficult to always stay on top of everything. We’ve got to pull it together and move on as already mentioned. I’ve had State Farm for many years and we’re happy with them.

We all make mistakes, some more serious than others. Hope the repairs are done quickly and you are back on the road soon.

If something like that hasn't happened to some folks yet, it will at some point. We all make mistakes.
