Lightweight heavy duty?.
Here is an interesting fifth wheel hitch.

Looks like it would be harder to align when hitching, but maybe never hang up when unhitching.

Looks too flimsy for the forces exerted on these big rigs. As beefy as the B&W Companion hitch is, after 4 years and many, many miles, I found a couple of stress cracks in it. B&W sent me a new Companion Hitch to replace it, i.e., very good service. I sold my rig to a new owner with the new Companion Hitch.

Controlling the load in an emergency is always on my mind. I guess 30+ years of owning wreckers and having rolled a travel trailer over have made me paranoid. Personally, I'll take safety every time.

Looks like it would really be fun to line that thing up. I guess I could ask the DW to lay down in the bed of the truck and holler at me when that little ball is over the hole.
