Medium length Mor/Ryde
Hello Group,
My research shows the RPB72-1716-04 is the Mor/Ryde pin that Keystone installs. This is a long pin that is needed with a short bed truck.
A RPB72-1116-04 is 6" shorter and would be just fine with a 8' box truck.
Anyone order the short pin, and if so can you still get the tailgate down with the trailer hooked up and can you get the front compartment doors open with the truck hooked up.
Thanks Jim

Jim I have the RPB72-1716 pin box and I have a long box truck, I am able to get the tailgate down to back into the 5er and the front compartment door will just open while hooked up if I am straight on.
I have the 20K Reese hitch that can be mounted to move the center point either forward or aft but it is only about an inch or two difference. If my hitch is mounted with the center point forward I cannot lift the access door when hooked up.
I would have thought the shorter pin box would work with the short box rather than the long box... Do you have SB or LB currently.

I have the shorter pin box and the tailgate comes down on both my 2005 GMC and my new 2012 ford both having the short bed. With the shorter pin box your turning radius will be less but less stress on the frame of the trailer.

Hi, I have the 8'box and the short pin box would move the trailer closer to the truck. Thus the question, can I get the tailgate down with the short pin box and since the trailer will be closer to the truck can I get into the front trailer compartment with the truck hooked up?
Thanks Jim

I'm not sure which pin box I have, but on my 2010 F-350, i can back into the hitch with the tailgate down with about 3" to spare. I can only open the front compartment door a small amount (enough to get a hand in there) but would probably not be able to get anything out while hooked up. If I move the "slider" hitch back, I get about 10" more, but seldom use it.
