Off on a new adventure

I work in oil and gas drilling, we are in the drilling support side and supply downhole tools to drilling rigs. My industry is taking a real beating with oil prices down below $50.00 per barrel and a lot of people that have this career are looking for work (some 70,000 have been laid off). I have seen many ups and downs and its to late to change professions now, been doing this since 1979. With that said, we are off on a semi-permanent assignment in Bossier City, Louisiana and will call Maplewood rv park home, for the time being, and I am very impressed with its owners and its price, I think $350.00 per month is a great value and it includes everything, water, sewer, electric, cable and wifi (probably not good or fast). If you are in the area long time check them out, if just going for a short stay, we really liked Diamond Jacks Casino, pull throughs and really clean, as long as you don't mind staying at a casino.
We are about to embark on the adventure that will tell us whether we want to ever try full timing in our 5er. Wish us luck and if you are in the area pm us for any info you may need and don't worry about fuel mileage, the more you use the better my chances of keeping my employment. LOL

Enjoy your time in that area. We spent our last few work years in the Tyler/Kilgore, Texas area. Heat is the biggest issue there in the summer, but beautiful winters. Good luck.

Believe me I am doing my share of burning fuel. And hoping you continue to work and pay taxes so my social security and military retirement deposits keep showing up on time!

It's gonna be a great assignment and thanks everyone for the help burning fuel. I sure pay a lot of taxes, so keep living and drawing social security.
