To those of you traveling through and staying in the area to see Yosemite. If you are traveling up 99. The drive from Merced is nice, the Elks has large drive through sites, and the drive from Merced is nice and only about an hour by TV. You will go through Mariposa, and drive up the Merced river canyon right into the Valley floor.

Two summers ago when we visited Yosemite we stayed at Bass Lake Recreational Park(Coast to coast park) and for Sequoia/Kings Canyon Parks we stayed at the KOA in Visalia. Both were nice.

Park Sierra, an Escapees Park, in Coarsegold was perfect for us.

Thanks for all of the responses. We wound up staying at the KOA in Visalia and it was very nice. Could not have asked for nicer owners, bend over backwards to make sure you are happy.

For Yosemite, we stayed at the KOA in Coarsegold, did not care for the park. The sites were small and close together. Our site was tiered and we wound up backing up an incline to get out of there. Personally, I would not recommend it.

Thanks again,
Marge
