How do you remove fly droppings from trailer ?

The whole side of our Montana is full of fly poop....you know those little black spots.
What can I use to remove without damage to the finish?

Thanks in advance.

Not trying to be a wise @#$%...have you just tried washing your rig with an automotive type wash and soft brush??? This seems to work with anything we have come accross so far.

I use black streak remover for all the bugs on the front of the Monty.

I am not really familiar with "fly poop" but it sounds like a wash job would do the trick, might try some soap in the wash bucket.

Sorry but I do an automotive soap when I wash! You have to use your finger nail to remove the specs.

Maybe here in central WI is the only place that we have this problem.

Oh Yea....The grasshoppers eat our Fiberglas screens on the house & trailer.

You know, for really bad stains and or scratches I use Gel-Gloss, if this stuff doesn't get it off you don't need it off, plus it brings the surface up to a new look.

A lot of people here have suggested Bounce (softener sheets) to take off bugs on cap. We tried that with success, attaching a dampened Bounce to a Swiffer mop. Might give it a try.

Wet the RV. Take a new Bounce Dryer sheet and start wiping. Rinse frequently, and wash with soap and water when finished with the Bounce Dryer sheet. Do small areas at a time to be able to rinse the residue from the dryer sheet. If you do not rinse and it dries it is just a little more elbow grease to get the film off.

Are you sure it's fly/insect droppings? Large number of spots would likely indicate "Artillery Fungus" spores which can be difficult to remove. Check here: http://www.personal.psu.edu/users/d/d/ddd2/ and other sites for further info.

That isn`t fly droppings. They are spores of artillery fungus. Gentle elbow grease and a good cleaner followed by a polish should work.

UPDATE:

Thanks to all that gave me advise on these spots. I found that my polish cleaner worked well & also dryer sheets.

Yes,they are 'artillery fungus' spots & not fly droppings.

Thanks again to all !

Many of the more potent cleaners like full strength Awesome and Simple Green as well as Bounce, will remove your wax. I use regular auto soap and one of the D/W's old puffs (what she uses in the shower rather than a wash cloth).
