Cals Boat and RV Closed

Cals Boat and RV in Las Vegas worked on our Big Sky a couple of times and we really liked their work and the people.

We drove by today on our way into town and it is completely closed down. Another sign of the times?

We haven't been down that way yet but I guess I'm not surprised. I have noticed that many of the dealers in Vegas have seriously depleted their inventory.

I read in the local paper on Friday that Beaudry's filed for Chapter 11 protection here in Arizona. I was talking to one of the reps out at their show at the Nascar race and they didn't know if they would make it.

Isn't it amazing about Cal's? I have lived in Vegas for many years. Bought my first boat from Cal when he was on Boulder Hwy. Then we bought our 2008 3400RL from him at his brand new store last May. Got a great price, added bedroom AC and the hitch. Went to Camping World, off I-15, on Sept 11th. Saw a brand new 2009 3400RL in front of sales office. They wanted 27K more than I paid for mine at Cal's. Asked when had they started selling Montana's? They said, when Cal went out of business they bought a lot of the stock and they take care of all warranty work. Yes, it was the economy and the bad lake conditions at Lake Mead that did him in. The salesmen said Cal must have sold me mine at almost cost. Timing is everything.
