Japenese Mall

It all started circa 1947, when Bell labs and the United States gave the Japanese the transistor (hence Walkman).

Let's see. My logic says that the water is falling in sheets and the graphics are punched out, most likely with a computer built from transistors we provided in 1947. Since the water is all the same size in molecules (generally speaking) the bottom and top of the water fall -ing will fall at the same 132 feet per second per second. That computer punch has to be quick!!!

Does anyone really know how that is done?

Edited: Ah! Never Mind. I do my own research.
Check this out! - 3000 water jets
This is not the Japanese one, but I'll bet you it works on the same principle - water jets - fast ones.

My guess is it is a laminar flow system with super-fast solenoid activated valves controlled by a fancy computer, similar to the fountains at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas, only way smaller and upside down. In the video, you can't really see what is above the fountain, so it's hard to tell how it really works, ...but I imagine that the workings are all concealed anyway, so it's anybodies guess as to how it works. I would also guess that whoever came up with it would guard the particulars, so that it could not be easily duplicated by others, thereby making it a revenue generator for them.
