Front compartment interior color....

So, why oh why is the interior of the front battery compartment painted BLACK?

It doesn't have a light in there and what little light bleeds in from outside at night is soaked up by the black interior. I'm thinking of repainting that compartment white. I'm also thinking of adding in a light.

Comments?

Eric

One of Al's first improvements was a LIGHT in there! Wow, what a difference that makes. That and a battery shut off.

As far as color, I don't have a clue, maybe someone else does??

I like the light idea (have one). Not sure about the white interior. White , of course, would be the best reflective surface, but also shows every spot and scratch. What would it be like to use a much lighter color, but not white. You would still improve the reflective characteristics, but the spots and scratches would not show as badly.

Also installed a light. Actually a very simple install considering the battery is right there to hook up a 12 volt light. And yes it has a switch and is fused.

I think white would work on the back and side walls as well as the ceiling. The floor I would leave black.

Great idea. Eric, I like the white idea also. It is dark in there, even with the light on the outside. Will have to add that to my list of "improvements". Glenn, I haven't had mine long enough to even worry about a light yet, but I will follow your advice and get one with a fuse.
