The New Year

I know that each of you is a mature, responsible person. So, I don't have to remind you not to drink and drive. Most of you will be ensconced in your RV, but those that do have to go somewhere, remember to watch out for "the other guy."

And, HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

From the both of us.

Thanks Wayne, great point. We never go out on New Years. Its just not safe. Just to many people who don't use common sense. We are non-drinkers but I really don't think I could have anymore fun if we were drinkers. So if you do drink adult type beverage, don't drive let someone who isn't drinking drive. GBY....

Wayne, thanks for the reminder and caring about your MOC family members. I do the same thing for our grown children, even though they sometimes don't appreciate the reminder they know the thought comes from the heart. Happy New Year to everyone!!!

Ever since we lost our car in a hotel parking lot and did not find it for three days... Helen said I drove..I think she did.We have no idea how it got to where it was.. We sort of slacked off and stay home or within walking distance of the festivities.

Contrary to Brad's comment I feel that we can't say this enough! So read the signs and listen to the radio broadcasts. And now listen to your "nanny" friends here on the MOC. If you drive don't drink! If you drink don't drive!

Everyone have a great New Year!

As an ex-LEO, all I can say is I scraped up too many people (most of them innocent because the drunks always seem to escape unscathed) from the pavement...

Carol (Mrs. Countryguy),

I was going to wait for my 1,000th post to display our pictures of our new rig, but this is near and dear to my heart. When I started with my department, the NHTSA statistics for my county were an appalling 56 DUI arrests per year. By the time I retired from the department, I got the entire department to increase their awareness to achieve about 250 per year. As of this writing, I'm told that it is nearer to 400 per year.

We enjoy our cocktails and wine. BUT, we do not drink (or even buzz) and drive.

Happy New Year...

I find it a little unsettling when in Texas the news people remind Texans to not fire their weapons for New Year's. That lead has to come down somewhere!

DUI is a FOOL'S violation anytime of year.
Over 36 years ago I got so drunk at my bachelor party that the next morning, our wedding day, I had no remembrance of how I managed to drive my car the 20 miles from the bar back to my house. I was so hung over that I remember very little of the wedding or the reception. I do remember making a promise to never do that again.
Like Michael, After 25 years as a firefighter and seeing just what happens to the innocents by some drunken FOOL I vowed to never ever drink and drive. If I have but one beer Lorraine, a non-drinker, takes the wheel.
I don't care how well YOU THINK you can handle your liquor do us all a favor..
DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE

If you can't find a Designated Driver than don't drink at all or stay the hell home.

HAVE A HAPPY &
SAFE NEW YEAR
