Tinfoil wrapped on 50amp Connector??

I was walking on a trail behind my Retirement spot in hot eastern, Wa when I noticed a brand new Monty with something strange on his 50amp cord hooked up to his Monty. It looked like tinfoil wrapped around the 50amp plug going into Fiver plug. This side of his Monty is in direct sun all day. Can any explain what he might be trying to accomplish?????

Maybe the cord has pulled away from the plug ( not uncommon, twice for me) exposing wiring, and he thinks wrapping in tinfoil protects from moisture?? Electrical tape would be a better interim solution.

This is what I use. Cord faces the sun every summer for 8 years and no problems with the cord separating when you use this: https://www.makariosrv.com/marinco-5...pter-1rpc50rv/

Maybe he had something applied to the foil to keep ants/insects from crawling up the cord?

Agree with MARK A I done that with Duck Tape put it on back wards keeps the ants & bugs from using it as a high way.

And it might just be a little ritual the guy goes through, and don’t mean nothing. People can talk their self into anything. The world would come to an end if they didn’t do it.
