Magnum

During the first four Montana rallies at Goshen, many MOC members got to meet our dog Magnum. He really enjoyed the rallies and getting to meet all of the MOC members. Magnum was a "people person". Like many, I thought of him more like a friend than a pet. Magnum went to the big hunting ground in the sky this afternoon with Terrie and I by his side. Thanks to the MOC members that gave him treats, petted him, or just said "hi". I guess I have to change my signature. But, I guess that can wait a day or two.

Oh, Guys!

This is just so sad, we are so sorry to hear this.

Magnum was really one of a kind, a very special friend.

Consider yourself sufficiently hugged

and, when you have a bad moment, visit the Rainbow Bridge:

I guess there is never a good time, but unfortunately I leave for China in the morning for two weeks. Hopefully I will be busy enough that it takes my mind off of it. For eleven years, he was the first thing I saw in the morning. And at night he was always there to greet me. It will be a real loss for me.

Terrie and Ron,

I too am so sorry to hear about Magnum's passing. Please know my thoughts and heart are with you both. He was an amazing dog and we really enjoyed getting to spend time with him at the rallies.

Ron and Terrie, I will surely miss the big guy. We only had a short time together, but I especially will remember the camp fires and him sitting on my feet and nudging me to keep petting him!Sadly, Magnum will be missed, but his memories will always be with you!

Ron and Terrie,
I have never met Magnum. But I'm sure that had I, I would have enjoyed him. As a dog lover, you have my deepest sympathies.

May Magnum be forever restful and playful in Doggie Heaven.

Yes, this one will stay with me forever. I have some great photos of Magnum and they will sit on my desk at work. Magnum was 93 pounds of muscle, except for his bad hips, he was still in great shape. The vet was extremely nice and they set us up in a nice room with a couch and had a nice rug laid out on a hardwood floor. I took my hunting vest in and he laid his head down. It was peaceful.

Ron and Terrie, I feel your pain, we lost our Sam (golden retriever) this year and the pain is still with us. I do feel confident, however, that he will be waiting for us at the Rainbow Bridge and look forward to being with him again. Not sure when, or if, we will get another. Sam was only 5. We had taken many pic of him and my DW had a special book made to remember his short life. They are available on line. If you are interested send me a PM and I will try and find a link.

Sincerely, Phil and Cathy

Rallies won't be the same without Magnum. He was such a neat dog. We are sorry to hear of your loss. We lost our retreiver about 18 months ago and we still miss her at times.

Thanks for the concern, everyone. Tomorrow will be my first morning going to work (I've been in China since that day) without eating breakfast with Magnum. He was like my second alarm clock. His clock told him it was time to eat a little before my alarm went off. So, it was food, then cheesy snacks (pills) and then a flip chip before going outside. It looks like I will be viewing some pointing labs over the next few years before we take the plunge again. But, the next dog has some large footprints to fill - figuartively and literally.

If anyone needs a good vet, I can recommend one in Mukwonago. When we took Magnum in, they had a special room prepared for us. It made it a little easier. When I got home from China, there was a card from the vet with a picture of a dog that looked just like Magnum on the front. Inside the sympathy card, they took a footprint of Magnum. It was such a nice touch in a sympathy card from a vet I only met a couple of times.

Ron and Terrie,

We were saddened to hear of your loss of Magnum. We remember him well from the rallies we have attended. Truth is, he would be hard dog to forget! This is something we pet owners have to endure. Try remember the good times and pleasure he gave you while he was in his prime.

John and Donna.
