Soupy Meat
Soupy Meat
Fantastic cold-weather main course. Serve it up in soup bowls as it should be "soupy".
This is one of those dishes that just gets better with age.
Ingredients
4 slices of bacon
1 lb. ground beef
3 ribs of celery, diced
1 medium onion, diced
1/2 cup ketchup
1 can (9oz.) B&M baked beans
1 teaspooon A1 sauce
Instructions
Fry the bacon crisp.
Save about half of the bacon grease.
Brown the ground beef in the saved bacon grease, drain.
Boil the celery and onion in enough water to cover until they are barely tender, do not drain.
Add the ground beef to the celery, onion & water.
Mix in the ketchup, beans, A1 sauce and bacon.
Simmer on low until you are ready to serve.
NOTE: My family likes this with more celery, onion and especially more A1 sauce than the recipe calls for......experiment and adjust to your liking. Excellent main dish when served with garlic bread and salad.
