They're Back!!

Yes, Those dreaded Asian Beetles are all over our Montana.
Inside too...every year at this time we get them here in WI & take some south with us.
Anybody out there know of a way to get rid of them??
It would be really appreciated.

Roy

I did a quick internet search for "getting rid of asian beetles" and found all kinds of different methods and links. I also found there are some that look like lady bugs and some that are copper and green in color and a lot uglier (but were also called Japanese beetles). Which ones do you have? Unlike the more docile and beneficial Ladybugs, the Asian ladybug is aggressive and harmful. I have had experience with their bites when me and a group of Boy Scouts unknowingly thinking there were lady bugs, got them stirred up, oh my! They do swarm if there are enough of them. They do bite if you anger them.

There's hope for some solution if you do a search. But here's some links I found to save some time:

Asian lady bug beetles:

Good luck!!! At least we now know who to blame for their transport around the U.S. I believe we transport Black Widow spiders since that's the bug that infests our rig.

I won't ever call them ladybugs anymore. They are no more ladylike than I am. There bite is amazingly painful - like someone pinching a small piece of your skin real hard with their fingernails - ouch! This is one of those pest bugs that tries to look like a beneficial bug, but there isn't anything beneficial about them from what I've read and experienced.

Good luck on getting rid of them!

Try finding an insecticide called Daemon. It was developed by the ag arm of my former company, and I got it at a do it yourself pest control place. Mix the liquid with water in a pump sprayer, and go to town. It is relatively safe around kids and pets, once it is dry, and it keeps on killing for months...literally. I spray the house and the Big Sky once a year, around the base boards inside and in the cargo bay. Very little bug activity!
