Awning - Internal Push Button Retraction

Last week I opened the awning on our 2010 3400RL Montana with the remote. When I tried to retract it, I could not use the button on the internal panel. Fortunately, I was able to retract it with the remote. Now, I cannot extend it with the push button on the panel. What is going on?

Better check the switch, I can use either one to extend or retract the awning.

I also have the electric awning. How do you retract it manually if neither switch works?

Regards,

Bill

Most electric awnings have a pair of manual terminal/metal contacts on the motor end (usually the end nearest the kingpin) of the awning (on the side of the motor closet to the RV). You connect to the terminals with a pair of alligator clips wired to the battery. In other words, one clip goes to the positive terminal of the battery and one to the negative terminal of the battery. Reverse the alligator clips attached to the terminals if the awning rolls in the opposite direction you want.

That is a good tip to keep in our bag of tricks. Thank You,
