DirecTV reception

Some of you may already know this, but I stumbled across it the other day. If I haven't used the receiver I carry in the fiver for some time as in winter layup ... I cannot receive any of my regular channels even though I'm tuned into them. I have to call DirecTV and deal with a tech to get the signal reset. Sometimes this takes some time. I pay my DirecTV bill online. There is a "troubleshooting" link right on the homepage of DirectTV after you sign-in that if clicked on sends you to a page that among other things says "Refresh Your Services". Click on that link ... select the receiver you need reset, and "ZAPPO" in less than a minute your TV is relinked to the satellite.

Good tip. Thanks. Will save that call to the tech. I've always had very good service from the techs so I'm not complaining. But this will be even easier.

I have been having problems with mine at the stick built. I don't watch a lot of TV. After numerous calls to tech support, I finally got an English speaking lady that told me that all I need to do is unplug the receiver and count to 20 and replug it up. That causes the system to reset and then it searches for the channels. She said that should keep me from calling them every month. It has worked for almost a year now. Hope it helps y'all too.

Send a message via MSN to Parrothead
We received the same advice. Every once in a while one of our rceivers forgets we have local channels. Unplugging, waiting and replugging does it every time.
Happy trails........................
