I hitch to the truck and raise the landing gear before I increase any air to my Firestone air springs. The weight of the RV will cause my air bags to register a pressure of close to 40 lbs. from the 20 lbs I had in them before hitching which is what I run when empty. Because of the high bed sidewalls of my truck, my RV is just slightly high in the front when on the truck. After the landing gear has been raised, if I air the bags to 50 lbs it's a very smooth ride. But I only air bags to 45 lbs to keep RV closer to level.

I have a 2012 Dodge Ram 3500 dually and RV is 14,000 GCVW

My air lifts say keep minimum 10#. I have a 3400rl, I fill to 20# and when hitched up the pressure increases to 40# and this amount levels the truck and 5er. So put as much air in so both are level.

Of course it's better to have both running as level as possible but the rv is more important on account you need to have the weight of both axles on rv as close to the same weight as possible. I put a level on the door threshold and then pumped my airbags up to 40 to 42 pounds so that rv was level. This also had my truck almost level also. Having nearly 3500 pounds of hitch weight will squat any truck some and with rear going down the front of the rv goes down. Anyone can benefit from using airbags for leveling. Just have to understand this is really the main purpose of airbags along with keeping your truck from bottoming out especially at the bridge transitions on our great interstates.

UPDATE
This weekend, we took our 3060 RL out for the first time. I measured the rear bumper height of my F250 SD 4X4 of the unloaded truck at 31 jnches. Connecting and hitching up the trailer, my rear bumper dropped to 28.5 inches off of the ground. I inflated the airbags to 65 psi to bring the rear bumper height back up to 31 inches. My wife commented that my truck rides better with trailer on it then does unloaded. The truck pulled the trailer well and we seemed to “float” down the highway. When we reached our campground, I disconnected the trailer and checked my air bag guage. I found I had 45 psi in each air bag. I’m very happy with the results.

Saw somewhere to start with 1lb of air-bag pressure for each 100 lb of pin weight. Thus 3000 lb of pin weight needs 30 lbs of air-bag pressure. It's a start anyway.
