223 between Bakersfield Ca. & Tehachapi

We are gonna head from Pismo Beach To Tehachapi and instead of going all the way into Bakersfield to catch 58, I was thinkin I would take the 223 thru Arvin & catch 58. It looks like a nice shot straight thru but are there a lot of stop signs on 223? I would expect a few lights in Arvin. Thanks for your replies. Dave

Dave and Teresa,
From Pismo Beach take the 1 to Santa Maria and take the 166 across the mountains into the Valley. Just stay on 166 all the way to Hwy 99. Take 99 north to hwy 223. Then just go east on 223 into and thru Arvin. I think there are one or two stop signs and in Arvin a couple of signal lights. But all in all a nice route to take. Traffic on 166 has never been too heavy. You will pick up some more traffic when you hit 99 and 223. But nothing too bad.

Enjoy your trip. Dennis
