3670RL floor creaking and poping

I have a 2001 3670RL. The whole time that I Have owned it, the heater duct under the floor has creaked and poped when ever you walked over that area. The problem has gotten worse over time.
This past weekend I removed the belly pan to see what was causing the problem. I found that the duct work was about 1/8 of an inch deeper than the channel in which it layed, causing it to be crushed against the cross brace underneath it. I shimmed up the floor joist and secured it to the cross brace, eleminating all the noise and the springyness in the floor.
