Buffalo,NY to S.Florida

I'm looking for a different Rt to Florida this year.I would like to avoid the W.Virginia and Virginia mountains.I leave the Buffalo NY area using Routes I-90 To I-79,19 and I-77 and so forth. Is there a better way without going way out the way, also I want to avoid D.C.at all cost.I come home a different way threw Alabama,Tenn,Kentucky and Ohio due to visiting people but this is 350 miles longer Any suggestions would be appreciated.

When we travel to and from Long Island to North Carolina to visit kids, we take the Delmarva Peninsula. This route avoids D.C. and it's a more scenic route. Once you get into N.C. you can pick up I 95 or head toward Myrtle Beach on Hwy 17. If you want, we can send you a printout of our route through Virginia.

We have friends that live in Olean, NY and make that same trip every fall and reverse it in spring for the past 6 years. To them it is the easiest route they have found.

We have been traveling that same routeby car every year and there is no better route to travel to Florida. But I have family in southern Ohio and sometime come back home using Rt 75 out of Florida to Rt 71 in Ohio ( allows me to visit family) to Rt 271 in Cleveland and then to the I90 to Buffalo. I do enjoy this way but its 150-200 miles out of the way. If I was pulling a camper, I don't really thing either is better as for the hills.

I camp near Rochester, NY and live near Gettysburg, PA.
I plotted your direct route from Buffalo to Eustis Fl since I did not know where you were staying in Fl. It is 1182 miles.

Then I routed you over to 390 south using US 20 from Buffalo over. Actually 20 to 63 to 390. 390 south to US 15 at Corning, NY to Bealeton, VA where you pick up 17 to I95 in Fredrick, VA. Then I 95 south. I take this route US 15 from Gettysburg,PA to Bealeton, VA. It has some country road and 45 mph speeds that are "ENFORCED". If you are not trying to make a speed run it is great. This route bypassed Baltimore and DC. The distance with this route is 1248 or 66 miles farther.
If you want to try this route I can send you a more detailed route ticket.

Hope this helps.

On my last trip to Florida I took I 79 to Washington Pa picked up I 70 West to I 77 South that eleminated those rolling winding mountains in W Va takes you direct to Charleston. If I remember about an hour and a half or so longer. But I would not do it again.
Headed to Englewood Fl in Jan

Or you could pick up I-81 at Harrisburg PA, Joins I-77 near Wytheville VA then split off on I-77 to Columbia SC then I-26 east to I-95. Only one "white knuckler" this route and it's not all that bad.
