Slideout problem...Need help

We were setting up this evening and my wife noticed that the Kitchen slideout would not fully deploy. She called me in to look at it and I noticed that it was not elevated above the floor while extending or retracting, thus the rolled carpet edge was dragging on the linoleum floor. When fully retracted, it does elevate as normal.

To get it to extend, I had to push up on the fascia at the ceiling to keep it level while extending.

Any ideas on what to look for?

Thanks,

Do you have slide toppers? If so they may be binding. Is that the only one that don't work right? Have you checked the fluid levels? Just a few things to check. Hope this helps you out.

Regarding the fluid levels, I put a mark on the tank where the levels are with the slides out and with them in, that way I can tell at a glance if the fluid is down.

We do have slide-toppers. Hadn't thought that the fabric would be strong enough to counter-balance the weight. I will look in the morning.

Thank you,

Micheal & Kathy, I had the same problem. My 3400 kitchen slide worked great for 12 months, then started acting up. First thing my dealer thought was that the slide toppers were suddenly giving too much resistance. I had it in and adjusted twice by the dealer. Was working fine for a while, but now this last time we rigged up, the kitchen slide came out slowly again and I had to push on the top part to help it seal. I will see if this is just a one time situation or if I need to take it back to my dealer

The Slideout is now adjusted about 3/8 inch down, meaning the exterior wall is now 3/8 inch lower than it was. The slideout now seems to work as designed. The total time to accomplish the adjustment was about 10 minutes.

Dave - this is about the only thing that you can adjust. After being on the telephone with Keystone and Lippert, the general consensus is that there are no wheels underneath,so the only thing supporting the room are the two toothed rails. Hope this helps you.
