PVC Flag Poles

A few people asked me about the PVC flag poles I had in the front of the SOB. They are pretty easy to fabricate. The one thing I did different is that I did not use an eye bolt to hold the flags. I purchased a couple of plastic electrical clamps that go around the 3/4 inch PVC. The outside diameter of the PVC is 1 inch. The flag hooks to the screw hole of the electrical piece and that allows the flag to rotate around the PVC in the wind. I kept the flag tight at the top and bottom by cutting, with a Dremel,(a hacksaw could be used)a PVC "union" about 1/2 inch or a little less off of each end of the union. I put one end of a flag on the plastic clip attached to the upright pole, slip both union pieces on the pvc, and place the bottom of the flag on the bottom clip of the upright pole. The one going to the top hold the flag in place at the top, and the one on the bottom opposes the clip on the bottom to keep the flag tight on the pole.

I saw the flag pole with other flags on it so i just made it but never saw flags so cheep as at amozon at 12.99..I just pd 20.00 at home depot;;;sailer

I drive a cement form stake into the ground (a piece of rebar will work) with a big fender washer around it laying on the ground. The flag pole sits on the washer. It helps the flag pole to swivel with the wind.

Same here re the rebar and washer.
If you buy all the parts at Lowes/HD, including a 4' piece of rebar, it will be less than $15.

I have three...one at the stick house and two for the RV, one for the US flag and one for my retired Army flag.

I also use the rebar and washer. The upright pole is capped so I stick the rebar in it for traveling. Keeps the mud inside the pvc.

I use a 3 ft threaded rod onto which I put a nut, large washer and another nut about 14 inches from one end. I then drive the rod down into the ground until the washer touches the ground (the washer allows the pvc pipe to rotate freely). This system has worked very well for me. BTW, I used 1-inch pvc.

Would love to come back by Wayne but it won't happen this year. On my Doctors recommendations I need to get out of this climate, as soon as I can hook up and drive we are headed stright north for about 4 days then east to Boston. Thanks for the offer, probably be back through here in July or August (possibly), still have the cancer issue to address in Boston before that is planned.

Don't know where we will be, but if we are here you are welcome to drop the landing gear in the driveway. Only problem is you would have to put in 3 slides for Earlene to get her car out. You know she won't park it on the street! Got 50 Amps, and the city dump station is only a couple miles away.
