leak in LR Slide outside corner
We have a 2011 3665RE. the LR/DR slide was closed and we notice the outside corner of the slide was very wet going longside the side of the slide that goes into the RV... we opened the slide..recaulked all the slide seams going up the slide and along the bottom.. took a fan and dried the floor..and of course it rained again and the floor is wet..Any ideas where this water can be coming from? I could see if the slide was out..but its inside..

Could still be a lot of things. The square corner pieces on the bottom corners have been known to cause leaks like that if the caulking comes out. It also could be coming down inside the walls from a bad seal on a window or a piece of tape leaking on the slide roof if the seal across the top leaks. I had to replace those outside seals on our 2010 several years ago.

how do you check/reseal the seals around the window? they look pretty snug to me.

In order to reseal the windows, they have to be removed/cleaned up and reinstalled using new putty. I was not going to go through all that so I cleaned up the putty that had oozed out around the window frame and caulked around them with black silicon.

Between the seal and the wall. How the heck do you get the seals out so you can clean them and re caulk

You would have to remove the entire window. There are screws on the inside around the outer rim of the window. Removing these will separate the window into 2 halves. 1 inside and 1 outside. I personally would not remove them if you do not what you are doing. I would clean up the exterior around the window where they meet the side of the unit and caulk them with 100 percent silicon caulk. Im sure you can clean them up, but if you are not a good caulker, find someone that is, to recaulk them (its not as easy as it sounds)

We have a 3160RL & had leak in the living rm. The rear plastic roof cover to the vent came off. I know now to check for these covers when I'm on the roof.

bsblindab, that's what CW called them. They're about 12" in dia. Plastic fan blades under a plastic cover. One located in front of front A/C & 1 located behind rear A/C. I didn't realize the top or cap could blow off, but it did.

Up until I went around the entire trailer and caulked around all the window frames with silicone, we had three different windows at different times leak past the slight gap between the window frame and the wall surface. Every one of the leaks was at a window in the end wall of a slide. I didn't take any chances and caulked all of the windows. The water was getting into the wall space between the inner and outer surfaces, draining down and seeping under the wall to the carpet. The gap is so small, it might be hard to get a sheet of paper into it.

Those are the skylights (roof vents I suppose) with maxxair fans in them. I have 3 on my unit. I put dark covers over mine...

no, I'm talking about "mushroom caps" (they look like white mushrooms) located at front & rear on roof. If you remove the cap, there are plastic fan blades. CW called them air vents. Amazon calls them roof vents. I hope you can see the Amazon picture.

They are attic vents. The mushroom like covers just screw on. They have a tendency to unscrew and blow off while going down the road. They can be purchased online. I put a little silicon it the hole of the new caps to help prevent them from coming loose.

I tried unscrewing the mushroom cap. I was afraid to add much force. I did screw it back down tight. They will come off if I keep unscrewing & pulling up?

Mine unscrewed without any problem. Simple as taking the lid a jar of mayo.
